Trump may consider deporting Prince Harry if he lied about drugs
Donald Trump is facing calls to disclose Prince Harry‘s immigration records, fueled by allegations that the Duke of Sussex might have provided false information regarding his past drug use when moving to the United States.
A conservative think tank based in Washington is engaged in a legal battle to uncover the visa documentation of the Duke.
They seek clarity on whether Harry acknowledged his history with illicit substances during his immigration process.
Trump has previously hinted that, under his administration, Harry could face deportation if it’s determined that he misrepresented facts on his visa application—despite the royal’s marriage to an American and their children’s dual citizenship.
Harry, along with Meghan Markle and their son Archie, relocated to Montecito in 2020.
However, his memoir, “Spare,” sheds light on his youthful experiences with drugs, including cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms.
The Heritage Foundation has raised questions about how the Duke was permitted to enter the U.S. in light of his admissions of drug use, prompting them to take the matter to court after an initial Freedom of Information request was turned down.
They argued that the revelations contained in Harry’s immigration file are of significant public concern, yet a judge ruled on September 23 that these documents should remain confidential.
Following the court’s decision, Samuel Dewey, an attorney for the Heritage Foundation, filed a motion in early October, reasoning that releasing Harry’s immigration records would illuminate the decision-making processes of the Department of Homeland Security.
With the Biden administration’s backing for Harry now diminished, Heritage Foundation’s lawyers are optimistic that a new president may be willing to reconsider the ruling.
Nile Gardiner, who leads Heritage’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom, indicated his intention to press the incoming president to disclose Harry’s immigration details, emphasizing the legal authority the president holds in this matter.
Trump, noted for his strict stance on immigration, has expressed that Prince Harry should be held accountable for his admissions of extensive drug use, fueling anticipation for potential consequences.
In a recent interview with Nigel Farage on GB News, Trump suggested without hesitation that if Harry is found to have lied about his substance use, the royal may not receive special treatment due to his stature.
The calls for accountability intensified after a revealing Vanity Fair article aired serious allegations regarding Harry and Meghan’s demeanor towards staff, adding fuel to the public’s scrutiny.
Meanwhile, the couple’s recent foray into volunteering amid the Los Angeles wildfires did not escape criticism, as some have labeled them “disaster tourists,” questioning their motives during such a tragic time.
